Master's Thesis

Prerequisite

“Completion of at least 85% of all program credits (not including the Master's thesis), i. e. at least 56 ECTS” (Art. 21 para. 2 in conjunction with Art. 29 para. 9 of the program’s study and examination regulations).

Learning target / Competences

With the completion of the Master's thesis, the student demonstrates their ability to work on a defined, complex topic from one of the diverse areas of a company in an independent, results-oriented and appropriate manner, within a defined period of time, and according to the state of the art of scientific-academic knowledge and methods.
Students will be able to prepare and present their work results in accordance with scientific-academic standards and in a way that is comprehensible to a specialist audience.
The thesis topic is set by the company in consultation with the lecturer or issued directly by the lecturer as a research-oriented, theoretical paper. As a rule, the topic should be of a scientific nature.
The thesis is assessed by two reviewers and assigned a grade. The first reviewer must be a professor. He or she is responsible for issuing and supervising the thesis. The thesis can be written in German or English. The handling time is six months.
