From Offenburg to Kuala Lumpur

The University of Applied Sciences Offenburg is the first European partner of the third “International Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy” (ICSGCE) which takes place in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from 11th to the 13th  October 2013.

The important questions relating to the changes of energy sources internationally can be discussed there with scientists and businesses from the quickly growing Asian economies. Professor Dr. Axel Sikora from the University in Offenburg started the contact as he supports the conference as chairman of the Technical Program Committee.

AN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS IN HONG KONG

Professor Dr. Sikora took part in the 2nd ICSGCE in October 2012. “A sustainable energy production and an intelligent distribution are not only German or European topics, but also worldwide topics. This is reason enough for a global exchange of ideas at the 2nd ICSGCE”, he reported while he took part as a member of the programme committee, as a session chairman and as a lecturer. He spent some days before the conference with a delegation of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) travelling through China and represented the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg at the “China Education Expo” in Peking, Xi’an and Chengdu. 198 contributions were submitted to the conference, 70 of them were presented and discussed at the conference. The participants came from 26 countries
