University continues to be internationally popular

Despite the corona pandemic, the number of international first-year students in Offenburg remains consistently high as of the 2020/21 winter semester. This is a further proof of the university's excellent reputation worldwide.

The international first-year students who attended the welcome event at the Graduate School in Offenburg sent greetings to those who (still) had digital access (see photo below).

Most of the multinational first-year students come from India, France, Poland, Syria and Turkey. About two thirds of the international students are enrolled in a master's program, one third in a bachelor's program. The most popular among first-year students from all over the world are the six English-taught master's programs offered by the Graduate School - most notably International Business Consulting (IBC), Communication and Media Engineering (CME) and Renewable Energy and Data Engineering (RED). In the Bachelor's area, most international first semesters have chosen the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology trinational (EI3nat) program this time.

At a special introductory event of the Graduate School, University Rector Prof. Dr. Winfried Lieber welcomed the first-year students from all over the world. Some of the students were present at the event at Offenburg University, others participated online from their home countries.

But no matter whether on site or digitally: all international students at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences are intensively supported by the International Office and the Graduate School. The employees offer individual counseling, organize a variety of activities and language courses, and arrange housing if needed.
