Under the motto “Celebrating the Past. Shaping the Future”, more than 1,000 representatives of international organisations, governments, and companies from 60 countries discussed trade policy, export promotion and finance in Abuja, Nigeria.
Offenburg University of Applied Sciences was able to contribute various results of applied research: IfTI head Andreas Klasen discussed with representatives of governments and multilateral development banks, among other things, how to create synergies between development cooperation and foreign trade promotion. In particular, the growing importance of innovative support instruments and supra-regional institutions such as the multilateral Afrexim Bank, which has been financing trade in and with Africa for 25 years, was discussed.
