High CHE Rankings for Master's Degree Programs

The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) has announced its latest ranking results for Master's degree programs in Germany. Offenburg University's programs fared very well.

Students in Gengenbach in particular gave above-average scores for their classes and general study situation; they were also highly satisfied with events offered and opportunities to set individual priorities.

High praise was also given to the university library and IT infrastructure: Students rated the current infrastructure and services as "very good." The hardware of the computer workstations and the availability of specialist software also received top marks. "We are pleased that our offers are so well received by the students," says Professor Thomas Baumgärtle, head of the Master's degree program of Betriebswirtschaftslehre.

Offenburg's Master's degree programs also received top marks for their relevance to the labor market and career prospects, including information events and student-led initiatives for starting a career. The efforts made in recent years in this regard have paid off: "Modern forms of learning, flexible study programs and a high practical relevance of our study contents make our university attractive for students and have contributed to the very good reputation of Offenburg University," says Baumgärtler.

Background information on the CHE Ranking:
Students regularly evaluate their study conditions in the CHE's German university ranking. Every year, one third of the programs are newly evaluated. The latest surveys were conducted during the 2017 summer semester. In addition to student evaluations, fact-based indicators such as the number of students in a degree subject are included as well.
