Last week, the WLRI had the pleasure of welcoming a very special group: the VDInis – young, tech-enthusiastic children aged 9 to 14. Goal was to give these curious young talents an exciting insight into the world of robotics. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the children impressed all!
Experiencing Robotics – Getting Hands-On
After a brief introduction, the children had the opportunity to interact with the robots themselves. First, they operated a cobot, a collaborative robot, and discovered how precisely and safely it could work alongside them. A special highlight was palletizing blocks with an industrial robot – a task the children mastered with flying colors. With growing enthusiasm and increasingly skilled movements, they demonstrated how well they adapted to the technology and how much joy working with robots can bring.
Enthusiasm and Willingness to Learn
What especially touched the hosts was the children’s openness to learning new things, as well as their relentless drive to explore technology. The VDInis approached every task with curiosity and creativity and weren’t afraid to ask questions and share their ideas. This shows that the future of technology is full of young, motivated talent.
Making Technology Tangible – For the Generation of Tomorrow
For the WLRI staff, this day was a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to the fascination and potential of robotics. The VDInis reminded them once again how important it is to provide young people with access to technology and to encourage their interests. Such visits not only create valuable experiences for the participants but also inspire us to continue creating opportunities for nurturing young talent.
Looking Forward to the Next Time
We’re already looking forward to the next visit from the VDInis – and who knows, maybe in a few years they’ll welcome some of them as motivated students at offenburg university!
