For the first time, the Institute for Trade and Innovation (IfTI) organized an international conference under the motto "Financing. Impact. Together." The aim of the IfTI Global Symposium was to initiate an intensive exchange between representatives of governments, multilateral and national development banks, private and state export credit and investment insurers and the private sector. In addition to current challenges such as punitive tariffs and trade barriers, the focus was on financing and risk protection for world trade. In addition, innovative instruments and new approaches to development financing were discussed.
Professor Andreas Klasen, Head of the Institute for Trade and Innovation and host of the conference, said he was "very pleased that we were able to bring together more than 40 international speakers in Gengenbach. As an institute, we not only reported on our scientific work, but provided new and important impulses for practice as well." B+W Dean Professor Philipp Eudelle was just as enthusiastic following the discussion with, among others, Afreximbank President Dr. Benedict Oramah and ITC Chief Economist Dr. Marion Jansen: "With the IfTI Global Symposium, Offenburg has once again shown that we are one of the leading universities for applied sciences."
The IfTI Global Symposium was organized jointly with the Danish state export credit agency EKF, the German Investment and Development Corporation (KFW DEG) and ITFC - Islamic Development Bank Group. The Berne Union, the world's largest association of state and private investment and credit insurers, also hosted the conference as a partner.
