On Monday, 1050 new students started their studies at Offenburg University. Among them are 81 students who have moved to Offenburg from all parts of the world to study one of the international Master's degree programs. 1687 young people from Germany and abroad applied for these special programs offered by the Graduate School of Offenburg.
This winter semester two new English-taught Master's programs are offered: Enterprise and IT Security (ENITS), which is addressed mainly to graduates of the bachelor's program Enterprise and IT Security (UNITS) and the Master's program Power and Data Engineering, which is part of the Graduate School and prepares students for the new world of energy: The current energy transition requires efficient energy systems. To plan, build and operate these systems, it requires well-trained engineers. The master's degree program of "Power and Data Engineering" prepares students for precisely these tasks. They get to know solar, wind and hydro energy, biomass and conventional fuels with regard to the conversion into electrical energy. The unique feature of the Power and Data Engineering program is the combination of profound power-system understanding and modern IT and data engineering methods.
