This second workshop will further explore cooperation opportunities in the fields of solar energy, innovative building technology, hydrogen technologies and long-term storage, smart grids, electromobility, energy management and education. The main objective is to bring together the right people with common interests and give them plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas. The second workshop will also present the activities and achievements of the program so far, offer opportunities for future cooperation, continue the discussion between the scientists involved in the program and establish new contacts for the Moroccan-German partnership and cooperation.
SAVE² stands for "Moroccan-German University Alliance for Sustainable Added Value Creation through Education and Intelligent Energy" and is a project within the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for Students - BWS plus, a program of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung. The project is supported for three years.
A special feature is the intended social dimension of the cooperation by trying to realize technology demonstrators at Moroccan aid organizations and to support the institutions, for example, with PV battery systems with innovative energy management. This approach goes back to the student GREENLIGHT initiative, which primarily supports the rural population of Morocco, for example through solar systems that are installed together with Moroccan partners. During the first SAVE² workshop a memorandum of understanding for joint activities in teaching and research between the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg and IRESEN was signed.
